Notes

There are several similar species. Among the most common are P. vesiculosa and P. varia. P. vesiculosa occurs on dung, and has thick flesh and large fruit bodies that tend to grow in clusters. P. varia can occur on dung, wood and soil. and could easily be confused with P. fimeti although it has smaller spores. P. badia and P. arvernensis may occur on soil, but are easily separated by their warty spores.
